Since starting this thread March of 2009, I have had 3 Escapades. 1 from the new listing and 2 from the scratch and dent listings. The first was set up with a glow engine, the other 2 with electric, using several different motors. My 1 remaining plane is electric running a BP A4120-7 (50mmX55mm) motor with 12X8 prop using either 6s A123, or 5 s lipo for batteries.. I fly from a paved strip, and although have had many hard landings, except for a bent LG, have had no landing gear failures. This plane remains one of my favorits.

Its nice to see a post from you Arniebud, I appreciate you starting this thread and thrilled to hear you still like your plane. That is one serious powerplant you have installed, I'm sure its a blast to fly.

I've had both electric and glow and loved them both. Air in the fuel lines could be caused by a break in the line inside the tank. The most common break is where the silicone tubing slides over the lip of the hard tube. Make sure the edges of the hard tube are smooth.
As for the landing gear breaking away, try drilling out the existing mounting holes and putting in some 10-24 blind nuts. Then use nylon machine screws (also 10-24's of course) to fasten on the gear. It will break away in a rough landing.
Check the screws every once in a while to make sure that they are still OK. Also, don't use washers between the screw heads and the LG struts. This lets them break away more easily.
My 'spare' Escapade is arriving tomorrow via the big brown parts truck.
Just my $.02

Escapade Power system for sale
In case anyone is interested, I have a full power setup, along with servos for sale that came out of my Escapade. I figured I'd list it here before putting it in the classifieds. Parts include:
All this new comes out to $220 plus shipping. I'll let it go for $150 shipped and Paypal'd.
Everything is in great shape with no issues. I can provide photos if desired. Motor has lots of power and can be run on an Escapade using 4s, 5s or even 6s LiPos, depending upon prop and desired performance.
I also have a set of tail feathers (with tail gear), a full wing (both halves, not epoxied together), landing gear and wheel pants (with very slight damage). I even have a full decal sheet. Shipping these items would obviously be few dollars more due to the size. If interested, let me know and we can work something out. The only items needed for a complete airplane are fuselage, canopy, and optionally, the electric motor box mount.
