F3K for Ladies - World Championships

Been asked to post this onto RC Groups by Craig Goodrum.

Hello World.

After a discussion at the 2013 F3K World Championships with Jonas Blomdahl, regarding the possible creation of a woman's subsection at the 2015 World Championships, this has led to quite a lot of new discussions. This group is intended to invite like minded people together in order to turn the dream into reality.

After discussion with Tomáš Bartovskỳ it is clearly possible within the sporting code for the woman's class to be introduced if there are enough entries.

Is there any interest in the world? Please send out the message and together we can make it happen.

What needs to happen.

We must get as many ladies as possible to become part of a team. And join this group (Facebook - F3K for Ladies). Preliminary entries for world championship status, we need a minimum of 5 countries to come on board by November 2013. Tomáš Bartovskỳ told me that the entries and the requirement for a ladies class will then be presented to CIAM at the end of the year. So we need to send a preliminary entry to Tomáš Bartovskỳ, from all countries wishing to send a ladies team to the next world championships.

Lets do this.....

Regards,
Craig Goodrum

It's a fantastic idea to create that women subsection...thumbs up!

But what I would like to see even more is a +60 or +65 year class. We have a lot of of good pilots in that segment. Physics are not improving with the years, so I'd like to see the real "seniors" on the podium as well...

I like the concept of adding Ladies and Eagles, but logistically it would add 90 minutes to each round at a WC event, meaning that you'd fly a little over two rounds/day...

I have an 11 year old daughter interested in the sport who would most certainly be attending a WC within a couple years regardless of her gender so this would be a bonus.

I would definitely consider it if Roland would sponsor me and give me a Concept since my dad's too cheap to get me one himself!

I think it is awesome that people are trying to get women and girls involved in RC Soaring but do we really need to break RC Soaring up by gender? I have always thought we could do more with women and girls in our hobby but is creating a gender based class really the way? Maybe I'm missing something here. In model rocket competition we have a larger percentage of women and girls competing and haven't felt the need to create a gender based class.

Ryan,

Rockets go whoosh, propelled by chemicals.

HLG's are propelled by people. Hadn't you noticed? There are strength issues based on gender and age.

No need of that, Dude ...you could fly in mixed groups with one big scoreboard at the end, but additional girls and "eagles" (I like that class name ) scores.

Hugs to LA,
