Alex,

See if the JR 189HV is available yet. I got my hands on a few 181 (the non-HV version) and have been using them this week in my new Maxa. Very very nice...

Thinking whether to go MKS 6125 or DS378HV in some of my DS models. I run DSM2 and prefer running HV servos through direct 7.4V

What about the 388HV? What's the difference vs. the 378, just the mounting tabs?
There's some in the want ads for what looks like a good price.

Would these work for the D80 elevator?

Looks like the 181 is 4.8 V only.

Kindly note in advance that some of the products shown in the list are only available in Japan. Therefore, they are not sold through our global distributors.

?????? and no price on those links ..... Says made in Malaysia. sold in Japan and no global distributors on some products.

MKS I can buy simple and easy. Airtonics also ?

Nothing on JR

The 181/189 servos should make it in to the distribution channels shortly, for OZ a good source may be ( http://www.modelflight.com.au ), they carry a pretty complete line of JR servos.

One comment. I received some of the very first servos, they were not even sure whether I was going to get the correct labels on the servos... Maybe I should not have mentioned them until they are available at the LHS!

Yes, the only difference between the 388 and 378 is the case. 378 has the tabs for wing mounting and 388 has the tabs for in fuse mounting. I glue mine in the wing so no worries about which tabs to use ... The above add is still valid. . Excellent servos... Need to raise some cash for new model delivery or I would keep them.

Is it the same case and gears as the DS378? I must be missing something because at first glance, it appears to have less torque, slower speed, and runs at higher voltage?

The top of the case is the only difference to my understanding. Are you confusing the DS378/388 with the DS378/388 HV (high voltage)? There are different specs for the high voltage versions.

I have four of the DS378HVs in my Supra Pro running off a 2s LiFe pack. Works great, but people say it is the loudest Supra they have ever heard. You definitely know when they are powered up.

They still haven't cured the noise problem on these I see hear.
Well it's better to be fair and not quite as intrusive.

Gears seem very tight. Hopefully centring is good.
