There are some of the old RTFs that had rare color combos. There were Cox PTs that had oddball colors and they are rare. I think the Comanche that was maroon instead of the more common green is the rarest one; that one brings into the thousand dollar plus range easy.

TD3's looked like they'd be hella flyers to me. Lose the landing gear and add a Black Widow or even a Killer Bee with a primo tank inside that hollow fuselage. tripple the control surface, run around 75% nitro with the right propeller and you'd have one great flying RTF. What weighs more, a TD3 or the Cox foamies like the ME109 and The Chipmunk?

I don't know which weighs more, as I have not found my Me-109 yet, to weigh it. The TD3 is much, much smaller and I would venture to say it is much smaller and it will turn out to be much lighter. The one in the photo is brand new, but not flyable (the nose is badly cracked). |
