Very spiffing mate....thanks for the tip. I'll look forward to trying it out. Besides the extra CMP Spit in the box I have Travel Air Mystery Ship short kit that your little trick might well be perfect for the sheeted wing.
Son as I finish up a current project I need to get that horiz stab replaced on my Spitfire. It's been built with several mods and custom paint to represent Don Blakeslee's MkVb 133 sqn (Eagle). Pics of it are on my blog page: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=208594 Scroll down about 7 planes. Best, Dick |

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...54&postcount=1 I don't get tired looking at that one. ![]() Well done sir! That elevator doesn't look too bad in the pic. But I'm sure it bugs the hell out of you. |

Anyway the photo itself came out well - thanks. I thought as long as I was going to remove and replace the stab I may as well build one with some airfoil shape to it. It might even help strenthen it as well. Dick |

A saito 72 would be great, I am sure that a 62 would fly it fine. The 82 was certainly more power than needed, and way above scale. I merely obtained a .91 and wanted to use it. So, I am currently bumping down the engines in my planes 91 in place of the 82, the 82 in place of the 72, the 72 in place of the 56, and will find a plane for the 56 in the future. The 56 is just too big to replace the 40 in my GP Combat planes...
The 82 hangs out the bottom of the cowl very little. I opened up a hole in the front of the removable bottom plate to allow air to flow across the cylinder. The 72-82 requires my battery strapped to the side of the fuel tank, a whole bunch of nose ballast, and the heavy stock muffler. (I usually use the light straight-pipe exhausts) You could easily use a Saito 125 in this plane or even the FG-21 and the ignition box and not worry about CoG |
