Sounds like better value for money if you want to charge higher S count batteries faster.

80w isnt much
150w imo is the low end for 3S packs even

12.6v*3.2a= ~40w
so your looking at maybe 2 packs at 1C rate or one pack at 2C on an 80w charger
150w just about gets you 3 packs at once

I purchased one recently. Starting getting a "Connection Error" so I purchased another one (only thing the LHS had) so I could charge while I sent it in for warranty replacement. Before I could get the first one setup up with Atomik to return the second one failed.

Now they both give a "Short Err" message and won't charge anything either on DC or AC.

What a piece of junk. $140 wasted in less than 2 weeks.

They sent me two replacements (Thank you Atomik). But one failed right out of the box. So far the other is still holding up.

I also purchased what appears to be exactly the same box from another brand and I have never had a problem with it.

Bought my son this charger for his 1/8 scale buggy for Christmas. I don't know much about lipo bateries, I am learning every day now.

The guy at the hobby shop recommended this charger as it fit my budget and also met my AC requirement.

I cannot get it to charge his 4s 5500mah battery at 6 amps. The most I've seen it charge is at 3.4 amps.

Thus causing it to take 2 hours to charge the battery. Every. Single. Time.

Anyone know why? Should I return this charger?

1/8 scale with big 4s pack you need to look at an iCharger 206 and a good power supply

4S 5500mAh is almost 100w to charge at 1C (1 hour charge) likely higher since the need to step up the voltage from 12v to 16.8v

you need a 150w charger minimum

http://www.progressiverc.com/the-ticket-350w-combo.html

this is a great setup and will let you change at 2C(30min charge) or two packs in parallel

Read above, this charger is not designed for big batteries.
IMHO, I think your store sold you something completely unpractical for your use and batteries. Where did you get yours from?

You get what you pay for, and for $70 you get a charger and power supply for small batteries- this is not practical for anything over 3s and I would return it as fast as possible.
