New Product
Speed Shark from Nanoplanes.net

I finally got around to getting the New Balsa Speed Shark prototype done.

Here are some pictures of the progress at the moment. I've already noted some minor changes that need to be done to the design, mainly a thinner fuselage aft section with more curves to look similar to our Nanoshark.

After I conclude more flight testing and build a second prototype with the updates I should be ready to produce the kits.

Hopefully these will be available in the next month or two.

The Red plane is the NEW Balsa Speed Shark prototype.

The Blue plane is the Balsa Babyshark already available.

I keep looking at the Balsa Babyshark but this is even more appealing. It will be a little easier to see as it speeds by!

Are you not making depron kits any more? I don't see any "in stock".

Have any specs on the Speed Shark?

Hey Guys

Here are the specs:

Wing span =....................................... 32"
Length =............................................. 24" (tip of spinner to tip of rudder)
Dry Weight =......................................13.4 oz
RTF wgt with 1900mah 11.1v 45C = 19.2 oz
(Will fit up to 1900 mah 14.8v 45)

Motor =............................................Micro Dan MD 2510-2700kv
ESC =.............................................ZTW 60 Amp or 85 Amp (I used 85 amp)
Lipo =..............................................Nan opower 1900mah 3S or 1900mah 4S
Elevator Servo =............................ HS-55
Wing Servos =............................... D47 x 2

So far I've only test flew it a few times yesterday on the 3S set up. I'm waiting on some new batteries to try it on 4S. Can't wait!

It flies like it's on rails like a pylon racer. The wing seems to hold up to the same abuse I usually put the Balsa Babyshark through, but so far the testing has only been on 3S... Really itching to try a 4S!

If you look at the MicroDan spec for the 2510-2700kv motor it is pretty impressive. I'm eager to try a 5.25 x 6.25 prop on 4S and see what happens

I took some video of the maiden and a couple of flights after too. I'll try to post a video later tonight after flying it some more today. I'll also be taking some more video this afternoon. Hopefully i'll get some good shots.

We are definitely continuing the Depron Shark kits. It simply sold completely out after the AMA expo and AEF. The new stock of kits should arrive by the end of next week

Thanks guys!

I'm really glad you like it. Hopefully many others will too...

We had a really good day of testing this plane out today. It flew great! Handles beautifully! It flies fast like it's on rails, and glides almost like a glider. Take offs are super easy and landings are also super easy, it just floats beautifully for a soft touch down.

The only thing we still haven't been able to test is the 4S set up. I think that will take some time as I need to order some Nano power lipos in the size we need: 1900mah 14.8v 45C.

Mean time I can't seem to find a suitable alternative that is in stock. bummer.

So anyways, I'm uploading a video to youtube right now and will post the link in about 20 minutes...

I decided to post the FUN video first where Adam is punishing the airframe with some high G's

Once we get the 4S pack then I'll post some speed run videos...

Sorry Billy,

For the time being, I'm not going to be able to take orders. I really need to spend my spare time creating and designing new planes. When I can make some time in the future I'll try to let you guys know.
