Frise ailerons

Hi Guys,
As I approach the half-way mark in my dragonfly build,I've come up against the problems posed by this type of ailerons. A search on Wiki whatsits name has given me some conflicting info in that they can be either hinged at the top or the bottom. So my question is , which way is "right" for us modellers ??....and has anyone actually done either way successfully ?
Would love to know how it was done, especially with regard to this particular plane
Rgds, Pete.

The Frise aileron creates extra drag when the aileron goes up, otherwise it would create adverse yaw in the opposite direction to the aileron input.

Here are some diagrams of a Bristol Beaufighter, note the wing cross section in the second picture.

So for your model design, either top hinge, or offset hinge like in the first and third picture

This is the way I did mine.

The red was for the linkages to the top aileron

The hinge can be in many different positions depending on the shape of the aileron as long as when deflected up the leading edge is exposed under the wing to great drag to pull the wing in that direction

I was not about to mess with the complexity of trying to make that inner surface concave:-))))))))))))
