New Product
2015 Skywalker 1680 1720mm FPV Plane from FPVModel

When you though there is nothing more to update on the most known FPV plane, you seem to be wrong.

FPVModel.com just listed new 2015 Skywalker 1680

Specs:
Wingspan:1720
Length: 1180mm
Cabin size:172x280x60(mm)
Flying weight: 1300g-1800g

Requirement:
4CH Radio set
4 x 9g servos
Motor:X2814 KV900(4S)/1100(3S) Battery
Propeller: APC 9045E-9060E
ESC: 40A-60A

From what can be seen, there are some improvements on wing and horizontal stabilizer. Not that they were totally redesigned, but updates seems to be reasonable.

Is there any dihedral in the wing? Appears to be like the 168 wing, but not sure from the photo.

One more photo on which dihedral is seen clearly.
To my naked eye, the wing seems also the same. The only redesigned parts are the plastic wing joiners, pushrod covers, and second carbon spar.

You're fast Ro! New parts are the plastic at the wing joiners, second carbon spar for added strenth, the push rod covers, and cutouts for the servo flaps . If you opt out of the flaps the wings come with the EPO inserts for the servo location so you don't have to worry about the cutout. We're getting one all put together and pics with descriptions. We'll post it here when we're finished which should be tomorrow. I've got some glue drying now before all the final touches can be completed.

Good stuff have you had a 168 before? I would like to know what you think of this one once you get it flying. I'll be on the fence while I still have a V6 in the air.

I have just started flying one and have discovered it flies way better than I thought it would. I now regret never having one before. I have only flown it 4 or 5 time now but like the way it handles. I look forward to comparing the two of them and see how much different they are.

Same as the old 1680?

Is this pretty much the same as the original 1680? Ive been reading mixed reviews on the newer models but it seems everyone raved about the original 1680 mm wing. IM looking to add another plane to the collection and this may be just the one! Thanks!

The difference appears to be in the span, the dihedral arrangement seems to be the same as the old wing, so hopefully it should work the same. You are indeed right the 168cm wing was the best one, well I think so anyway.

Thanks! Did you mean spar or wing span? I believe the original was 1680 this one is 1720. It also appears they went away from the carbon fiber boom and back to the foam? Alsoadded another spar in the wing?Im almost going cross eyed from all the reading ive been doing tonight. Ive got a Superskysurfer 2000 that ive been flying fpv for several months now and im wanting to build something new with ap and some more goodies I dont have on the surfer.Ive Been kinda caught up between the skywalker and the the skyhunter. Id really like to not have to disassemble the thing to get it in the bed of my truck. Most of my flying I do right out my back door but occasionally id like to transport, and the surfer at 79" is pretty dang big! Are there any other changes that you know of? I have only seen the skywalker online, seems like there were posiibly several versions. Thanks again! Mike

No wing Span, the distance from one tip to the other. Foam boom has been there all along, they just seem to be making several different versions at the moment for whatever reason. This is the one to get if there are no 168's around (BEVRC had some last I looked).

Main difference apart from appearance between the Skywalker and the Skyhunter is the tailboom which on the SW will prevent any possibility of a prop strike.
