Me neither but they already got approval. So it's some kind of manual review or something. Maybe the CC option is something new, not sure if I noticed it before. In the past I used paypal and use my regular cc with them. Oh well. Happy New Year one and all!

btw, the X1 is still slamming walls well indoors. Sometimes all it needs is to just softly brush an obstruction and it shoots back like a rocket. No control in those circumstances.

Thanks for that reminder, Heli Pal. I knew it was coming next month, but had not seen the date. If I don't get to order what I want by next week, I will probably wait til late February.

And hello, long time no see.

Before I finally make myself make some bigger quad, decided to revive my X1. From what I see: one motor is dead. Will rotate sometimes, but too lazy to fly. So before I order a replacement, a question to the people: are motors from x5 the same to x1 ? I don't trust chineese shops much.

thx

Another question: I want to disconnect the current motor, connect it directly to some battery to check if it works (maybe that problem is not with it). SO the question is how many volts do I better connect it to?

If exactly the same in their specs down to matching kV to the last digit I can't tell.
Exactly the same in dimensions and markings, though.
I've noticed no performance difference between X1 and X5 spec'd motors neither in my DIY birds nor my Hubsan fleet.

I noticed the 5 motors start up faster then the the orig. I replaced both ccw motors (2&4). It was flying fine but I found it pulling to the left and back (while facing forward) Could be totally unrelated to the motors but it happened after changing.

Mine also has developed a yaw issue, where it yaws on it's own about 20-30 degrees.

erm, that looks like replacing all x1 with x5 at once might be a good idea, isn't it?

Back to the question: what voltage should I check motor with, after I have disconnected it?

If you don't have a charger with motor test functionality you can run these brushed motors with around 2.5V.
Of much more importance would be a current limiter - just in case.

I'm not sure what you want to see. Measuring motor's resistance and inductance of every coil would give you've better insight in motor health if compared to a new motors reading.

Being a noob in electronics, thought to check "would it spin". Thx for your comment as it suggest that would be useless to be done in this manner.

Hey Heli Pad,

long time, I fired up my X1, and boy o boy it was stabile and underpowered, mainly do to flat tired batteries, I let my daughter fly it now.

Been flying my 231mm Raptor quad for 2+ months, man this thing is fun, 85A, 1310 watts, ~11:1 thrust to weight and 0 to 100mph in ~2.5 sec. Almost indestructible 5mm thick CF frame. Boris-B has done wonders with the betaflight firmware on the naze clone flight controllers ($12 on ebay). I have 700 flights on her in a couple months, it's a blast. Here is a link to my build, have fun guys.
