HELP F550 loses control but gimbal still is controllable

Strangest thing happened to my F550 today. Connected battery, got 9 satellites clicked record on Go Pro (H3 3D) and as I take off power is totally lost and the F550 falls like a brick (fortunately onto the grass only 1m above the ground!). After clicking back the legs and the dampeners on the gimbal I reconnected the battery (now on 16.7V 4S) and take off, every thing seems fine, I start to fly slowly to the right and and then lose control of the F550, it goes into Failsafe mode and starts to climb to 20m and starts to return home. I could not regain any control, but the strange thing is I was still able to move the gimbal up and down!! And tried switching between modes (GPS, Atti, Failsafe) but nothing changed it! So it eventually lands after 1 scary minutes (as I was next to a river). I called it a day, and have not flown it since? I have had more than 60flights already with no problems?

Does anybody know what could have happened? Radio interference?? Gimbal still worked?? The F550 was never more than 25m away totally in site?Your experience would be greatly appreciated!!!

Not that I am aware of? I never used the wifi feature. What I do know is that the GoPro battery was completely flat, as I usually turn the GoPro on before I plug the F550 battery in (so that the gimbal calibrates properly) - so not sure if this is somehow responsible for the first incident where the F550 just shut down - including the GoPro as you can see from the footage.

I like the idea of the WiFi interfering in the second incident, I must add we were pretty much out in the bush, and I have never experienced this type of thing in built up areas where there is a lot of Wifi. I thought the controller does band hopping to avoid interference.
