Yak 55M 53" Scratchbuilt

Hello everyone,

I would like to show here my latest plane, that´s almost ready to receive the electronics after a looong time working on plans and building it...
The plan was one of the biggest challenges for this plane, cause there weren´t no free plans for the "full" yak 55. So I started the drawings from scratch, based only in some "3 views" of some planes avaiable today, but with lots of changes. During the construction some little problems that have apeared and were all fixed on the plan, trying to make everything fit great.

Now talking about the plane, here are some specs:

Wingspan: 53"
Lenght: 53"
Aproximated Wing Area: 500 square inches
Weight without landing gear, linkage and electronics: 975g / 34.4oz
Expected weight: 2.5kg / 80oz

Any suggestions for a good setup?
Due to this huge cowl size I think a 17~18" prop could work fine, but need suggestions about motors and bateries...

About the plan, I´m still finishing it and soon will be avaiable here...any suggestions will be welcome

So, here are LOTS of pics hahaha

1/8' Lite Ply motorbox

One of the "mistakes" already fixed on the plan

The locks for canopy ( it will be changed for metal or carbon ones)

16x14mm Carbon Fiber Wing Tube

Covering Scheme

Now just need to cover the bottom of the plane and it´s done!

Thanks!

Thanks for all the comments!!
Now I need some help about the motor for this plane... I´ve been looking this one here, but there aren´t good tests to have an ideia about motor.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._60_Glow_.html
I would like to use 5s and a 17" or 18" propeller, but now i have a big doubt about what motor get for a great thrust, vertical almost unlimmited, etc.
Without all the electronics, but with landing gear, wheels, linkage, it will weight about 1300g.
So, if anyone here could help with it, i will be grateful! hahaha

Thanks again!

Good question. I don´t now exactly hahaha
This one was built very slowly due to my lack of free time this year, it took one and a half year (amazing! hahahaha)
But I think that if you use something like 4 hours a day, in about 6 months it will be done(laser cutting all the pieces). Just aproximated time...

Thanks
