Viking Funeral at SEFF featuring Ben Fisher

What a great time at SEFF. The guys from 3d Hobby Shop were great. In this video Ben Fisher explains the proper way to put a Velox to rest by a Viking funeral.

Man, sorry I missed that.

It's going to take a fire or explosion to top that one!

Sad... Yes, but my beloved Velox had a long and happy life. I rescued her from Doc Austin amd Ken elders. Once out of that abusive relationship she thrived. LOL She served me well for 6 months or so. She would rather have gone out like that then to end up hanging from some ceiling some where.

Great job on the video Steve.

This was my 1st SEFF. Had no idea what i was missing, sign me up for next year. Although came home without my Velox i was lucky enough to win a 51" 3DHS slick, can't wait to get that in the air.

That was awesome!

I first spoke with Ben over a year ago and wrongly got the 1st impression that he was a jerk, rude and crude. That couldn't be any further from than truth.

I spoke with him several times looking for feedback on Giant Scale LED lighting setups and issues, he was very helpful. They always say first impressions are lasting, but I had to change mine to "Ben is a good guy".

Then last month I needed a Hacker A-60-18L motor for my 87" BME Edge 540, I got his recommendation that it was the right motor for the plane. Went online the next day to order one from 3DHS, they and everybody else were out of stock. I called Ben back to see when they might be back in stock so I could put one on backorder... now get this... he had actually pulled one aside for me just after we spoke on the phone the day before. I was impressed by that, but that wasn't the end of it, he price matched one of his competitors (that was currently out of stock) and did free shipping that a different competitor advertised without me even asking. Now to me "Ben is a great guy".

Ok and if that wasn't enough, at SEFF, Ben actually took the time to program and setup my CC 110 HV ESC and Motor the way they were meant to be. Then I let him fly it and he gave me some very important pointers and feedback on what the plane needed to really perform the right way. Now, in my book "Ben is awesome!".

I owe Ben a big thank you for that and I respect his knowledge and skills, now I can add his wit to that list after seeing his commentary on the video. I didn't get a chance to partake in the cocktail hour they did, but I am willing to bet it was pretty damned good too!

I wish my batteries weren't stolen because you had me motivated to fly it at night all lit up.

Thanks Ben!

Yeah it was a great job, but someone will be encouraged to do better...What do you think Doc? Anybody in mind?

I wish I knew the names of our guest judges. I know LiveMike, Hypersprint (Rob), Ken Elders,...and of course, me. Oh, I was on the other end of the video camera. Never mind.

I can't agree with you more about Ben and his team. They all were a great help and even though I'm a new 3d flyer—and not very skilled—everyone was willing to help without all the negative criticism. It was great to see talent like Bonedoc (Josh) and Andrew Jesky.
