Very new to the hobby. Have a Blade mQX - one of the motors
stopped working altogether so I ordered a replacement motor--
I had to also order a replacement boom arm cause i accidently
snapped the connector on the original one...

...so I connected everything up, making sure to match the greens
when connecting to the circuit board and same when connecting
to the motor...

...the thing that's weird is when I plug the batter in.. the new motor
starts spinning right away and stays spinning.. i bind the transmitter
to it and no change, that one motor just spins non-stop once
the battery is plugged in...

...anyone have any idea what i did wrong? and/or how to fix it?

A short in the wire or connection would be my first guess. Try swapping arms to see if it's the board.

Sounds like you broke more than a motor ?? Did you check old motor to see if that was the problem. One motor stop working sounds like maybe Big crash into something very hard ?? Maybe just bad conection ?

@dankar it happened pretty much straight out the box, maybe third flgiht.. when i looked online, i saw that there was a lot of people who had this motor stop working..... it was one of those i found thread after thread about this particular arm.. though now that i type that it implies a problem with the board more than the motor, huh?

@balr14 thanks, i'll try switching around the arms and see if that changes anything...

if it's the still happens after that, have i narrowed it down to the board and probably such need to get a new one?

If it happens with a different arm and motor on that place where it plugs into the board, I'd say it's the board. But, that would be unusual, I still think cracked insulation on the wires.

Okay, so I swtiched around the arms, and it seemed to be associated with the
position on the board... (rather than the motor or arm)....

...what does this mean? Is this the "just have to order a replacement moment? or do i have any chance of repairing the problem on the board?

I would call Horizon. The board is expensive and shouldn't fail. Otherwise, it may be the FET that controls speed for that connection. You could fix it yourself if you are very good with a soldering iron.
