Civic Center. I can't take any credit at all for pioneering it, but it rocks when the condition are right. Just enough of a walk that you have to pick your planes with a little care so you can scramble up the trail.

little mountain
our slope face west primarily..also a great sw,wsw,WEST and th eother side provides a great nw and a rodeo bronco bumpy ride for the nne..ive been flying here for 15 years..its an old hang glider training launch hill.. shaped in a L shape with the short part of the L facing south and the long part facing west..perfect from march to november as the onshore winds funnel right in..from the launch its 100yds. to the right(short side of the L) and only 50-75 yards tio the left(decreasing in size to ground level)BUT the right side you can fly out 150 yds. easy.and in front of us is flat ground as far as you can see.unobstructing the wind,so no bumpy air.the winds onshore daily are about 10-15 picking up 20-30mph by 4:00..some call it the 4 o'clock hill..when the temps are up..20-25 is phenominal..hers a newly created link on RCG we started to act as a video, picture, information of daily events and whats happened recently..usually after the PSS event ,some of the guys come down to enjoy little mountain..peeps from san diego to youname it come around here to have fun..we welcome them all..anyways wheres your sites pics?let see'em....here the little mountain link..dave

I'd be happy with a straight-ahead copy. I think with a few kinks here and there it could be built really light, and make an amazing inland PSS plane.
Baaaack on topic, some of the best days I've had have been exploring new slopes. A friend and I spent a day looking for slopes between Rodeo Beach and Tennessee Valley, and had an amazing time. We found a really good spot where we fly, but we could duck out of the rain in a WWII bunker as the storms rolled in. We kept trying crazier and less recoverable launch sites, but we didn't lose a plane. I realize this is an impolite question, but is that mold split horizontally? |
