New Product
Flyzone L-39 RX-R

I just got my February 2015 MA in the mail, and on the inside of the back cover is an ad for a new Flyzone plane, an EDF L-39. Supposedly it can do upwards of 90mph. I've been looking everywhere online and can't find it, not even a picture Does anyone have any info about this (besides what's in the ad in MA)? I'd really like to know more about it, but can't seem to find anything.
The picture below is a picture I took of the ad in MA
-RG
(PS, I wasn't sure exactly what category this goes into because its a question about a new product, so I just put "new product")

probably not perfect, but close enough to understand.

Hobbico had it on display at the AMA Expo earlier this month. It looks to be a rework of the original ElectriFly L-39 Albatros. I believe they reworked or added better ducting, came up with the sport jet color scheme and then made it Receiver Ready. I assume they will use their Hyperflow 56mm EDFS unit but they may go with a hotter 4S wind than the 3S Ammo in runner used in the original version. I really loved the original and look forward to this reincarnation .

I was about to get that GP/Electrifly L-39, but they discontinued it before I could get one, so if this is a similar model, I have to get one! The Electrifly version had two different canopies, a foam one for flying and a clear one with pilots for display. I wonder if this is the same type of thing.

Looks cool!

I did find a prelim listing on Flyzone:
http://www.flyzoneplanes.com/parts/flza3634-parts.html

It does mention 4S.
REQUIRES:
4-channel radio with micro receiver & 3-4S 2200mAh LiPo battery pack

Looks like no landing gear on this one.

Good find I wish they would write a little more info about the motor. I want to know if this will be a parkflyer or speed demon (I prefer the latter ) There's a "warning" in the ad in MA about how fast it goes. While I do agree that most EDF's are fast and should be flown with caution, sometimes they do that just to catch people's attention. In other words, people who fly jets will probably be more likely to buy an EDF model from a company known to make entry to intermediate-level planes if there's a warning about how extremely fast it is. I've had a few of the 50mm jets from places like Bananahobby.com that were promised to be fast, yet I could easily fly it at a local baseball field.

Not yet, I'm assuming between $175-$250.

Hi. I did most of the design work and testing on this plane.

It is an updated version of the Electrifly L-39 that we released a few years ago with reworked duct work. It uses a 56mm Hyperflow with a 24-45-3790 Ammo and a 4S setup. It is basically the same setup as used on the Phazer and the Evader.

During testing I recorded peaks of 95mph straight-and-level with unlimited vertical, but the airframe is light and forgiving enough that it will also fly predictably at slow speeds.

It's a fun little, no-worries plane...I still fly my prototype and it still brings a smile to my face every time I do for its simplicity and good performance without being nerve-racking. However based on comments from other users (I have not tried it) it might be possible to get even better performance by using one of Don's motors!

For launching I simply go to about 1/2 power and underhand it. It never fails.
