Definately is a drag/ground speed issue; CG is actually a bit tail heavy just to make sure I get good rotation.

When the field is dry/just cut I can get off in half the field. When it is damp from dew and/or ready for cutting, I need just about all of it, even with flaps.

For me, it was a matter of being able to fly or not fly, so the choice was easy.

What servos did you use for flaps?
I just used some 9G HK HXT900s that I had lying around. Good general purpose servo -- centers well, does not 'groan' or make noise like the HH ones do sometimes.

Did it help the CG?
I don't know that it impacted it at all -- I think those are fairly close to the CG line. What makes the difference in letting you jocky CG to where you need it, is cutting back the foam to let you place the battery way back, as well as using a 3000-ish batteryversus a much larger one.

What kind of AUWs are you guys getting on 4 and 5s with the retracts and flaps installed? Thanks.
Sorry, don't recall mine, but it's nothing exotic -- standard eflite retracts, plus flaps, standard motor, fan, ESC, etc.

That's what I'll be using on my Flaps also. Great bang for the buck!

more blades = more amps for same power. what you gain is a much better sound. Really you're trading power for sound.
It was the similar performance as stock. It checked at 54amps on the watt meter. Sounded a lot better.

The 14blade setup I have coming for the V2 is 4s/5s.

Airframe arrived today

The smile was quickly erased when one of my HK retracts failed during a bench test

Gear go down, gear come up - then gear no come down no more

That stinks. Sorry to hear that. I haven't tried the returns process with HK, but if you can send the return to their warehouse in WA, awesome. Otherwise, USPS First Class International shipping is relatively cheap, and you can print shipping labels online at USPS.com.
Best,
Josh

Diesel, before you get all bunched up, try and set the end points on the gear channel up to 105% and check the gear again!

Will check thanks

Update: no fix. Tried different endpoints as well. Submitted RMA.
