Well it could be worse! Most of our aircraft industry has diminished massively since the war.

well we do a little bit, the Eurofighter and the Hawk, and a few other bits and bobs such as the Taranis. We don't seem to have the budget like you Americans do!

how awesome would the rebirth of the F-20 be? perhaps something like a F-20, 2 seats, and maybe a little bigger wing bring back the legend that was never allowed to exist...

I think that era has flown.... I think something like a stealthy yak-130 without tail fins would be a good trainer for next gen pilots.... That way pilots could practice stealth attacks etc

2 seat YF-23 as a trainer. Done. That was easy.
I would consider that an apology and admission of mistake in choosing the F-22.

It took almost 50 years for the B-2 to correct the mistake of choosing the B-36 (and requiring the destruction of all the YB-49's on the strip )

but because our country is pinching pennies like never before, im sure we'll just adapt the hawk to airforce requirements, and have yet another forien design win another contract. first it was the texanII, now the northrop/bae hawk. yay. another hawk lol

You're right, it will likely be another plane based on a collaboration with someone else...not really deserving to carry the Northrop name.

Like the idea of the f23 trainer... The whole collaboration thing is a bit shaky don't you think? I guess we are on a shrinking global village....
