Whoops!
Iraq "DO YOU" know

Now you do....

Did you know that 47 countries' have

Reestablished their embassies in Iraq ?

Did you know that the Iraqi government

Currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi people?

Did you know

That 3100 schools have been renovated,

364 schools are under rehabilitation,

263 new schools are now under construction;

And 38 new schools have been completed in Iraq ?

Did you know

That Iraq 's higher educational structure consists

Of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers,

All currently operating?

Did you know

That 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in
January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program?

Did you know

That the Iraqi Navy is operational?

They have 5 - 100-foot patrol craft,

34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know

That Iraq ' s Air Force consists of three operational squadrons,

Which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft

(under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night,

And will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know

That Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion?

Did you know

That the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000

Fully trained and equipped police officers?

Did you know

That there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq

That produce over 3500 new officers every 8 weeks?

Did you know

There are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq ?

They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals,

83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities

And 69 electrical facilities.

Did you know

That 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5

Have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know

That 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October?

Did you know

That there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq

And phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know

That Iraq has an independent media that consists of

75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Did you know

That the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know

That 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a
Televised debate recently?

OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW!

WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW?

BECAUSE OUR MEDIA WON'T TELL US!

Instead of reflecting our love for our country,

We get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib

And people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades.

Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive

In Iraq serves two purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world's perception

Of the United States thus minimizing consequent support;

And it is intended to discourage American citizens.

Iraq was a very well developed country before it was destroyed by the US invasion. This chain letter in essense mostly states that Iraq is returning back to its pre-destruction developmental levels (although it is still far from that), but somehow it is now credited to the US (? ?) How stupid do you think people here are?

When is sounds and smells like another spammy email from a hyperconservative blog that is encouraged to be spread on the internet, it's most likely quacking and swimming...

Whoops indeed...

Do you have a link with such data?

How does that link 'bust' the information?

* Note: It is obvious it is from a spam email. Debunking such emails is best done with hard data, not empty rhetoric.

Well Paul your reply is about a rhetorical as mine, wanna provide some data about the availability of clean, worm free water through the still mostly extant water systems of Bagdad? The infrastructure is only barely functional, does this sound like our money has been well spent by Halliburton?

I'm not here to defend the OP, but the responses thus far have been no better than "is not!".

Since these Bush years taught us "In Fraud We Trust" here's what the OP means by "completed":

Almost 900 Iraq reconstruction projects unfinished

Posted Mon Apr 28, 2008 3:33pm AEST

A review of US-funded reconstruction projects in Iraq has found that millions of dollars have been wasted because almost 900 separate projects have never been completed.

The reconstruction of Iraq has cost American taxpayers more than $107 billion.

An audit by the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction shows that at least 855 contracts to help build schools, hospitals and transport systems have never been completed because of excessive cost or delays, poor performance or violent conditions.

The audit also says that many reconstruction projects were being described as complete or successful when they were not.

Danielle Brian, executive director of the watchdog group Project on Government Oversight, said: "The report paints a depressing picture of money being poured into failed Iraq reconstruction projects.

"Contractors are killed, projects are blown up just before being completed, or the contractor just stops doing the work."

US Aid, the body responsible for overseeing Iraqi reconstruction, has responded that the data base used is incomplete.

A good start might be snopes:

Peter, that looks like good data. Perhaps a link to it would help.

So why is the U.S. military still there? I want them home tomorrow. They're late for dinner.

Did you know

That Iraq did not ever have any WMD's and everyone that voted to invade Iraq was a trigger happy idiot?

Did you know

That US & coalition troops have killed 100,000 Iraqi civilians?

Did you know

That over 4080 US soldiers have died in Iraq because . . . ? . . . I guess so we can justify spending ~$3B/week for . . . ? . . . well, so the weapons suppliers can get even richer . . . ? . . .

Looks like the odds are in our favor, so I'd say we're winning.

Maybe when we're done killing everyone in the country we can repopulate it with all the refugees from African nations......compared to home, Iraq might be an improvement for them.
