Adrenaline Rush stevens aero model

Hello, I'm putting one of these together and stumbled onto a great set up for motor. I acquired a hammered MCPX brushless heli for parts.... Check out how nice it fits this kit. The carbon rod included in kit fits very tightly where the shaft and bearings use to be. Trim off extra plastic bits and you have a made to order 6700kv motor ready to go.

I've built a few of these little racers. I like the mount that you came up with. The only bad news is that there are no props that you can usable at 3S, given the Kv of the motor. Even the GWS 3 X 2's cant handle the rpm's. You will want the amps to be in the 9-13 range. Good luck, and let me know how it turns out

Thanks for your input, I was planning on running a 2 cell 7.4 volt battery with a gws 3x2 prop. It won't be as fast but i'm hoping its decent! I'm trying to finish it this upcoming week, I'll post some pics.

Getting closer! Reciever was bad from package, so waiting on replacement. Got elevator servo installed but broke horn. Ailerons installed now. Also mounted elevator tube inside boom, looks better. They fly great flat, I've never flared tips or added dihedral on past builds... This is my first rush. I hear it makes slow flight a little better.

Had time to get the CG worked out today. The AUW is
102 g with the little 200 mah battery and 130g with 800 mah batt. Stevens aero says CG is about 1 inch from LE.... Somehow I ended up needing to add 12 grams to the nose to accomplish CG with 800 mah batt. Might be due to monocote stickers on tail? And this motor is less weight than comparable motors. You'll see the weight coiled around nose! Hope to maiden soon, I'll bring the gopro :-)

A little dihedral will help it to track better. It is recommended in the original plans.

Well as it turns out the shaft diameter on this little motor is 1mm. So the GWS props won't work, as there 2mm holes. I tried drilling them out and pressing them over the pinion gear, but at full speed it was to off balance. So I thought maybe a 3mm collet adaptor over the pinion gear.. This is going to work best I think... But I need a smaller prop than the one I picked up. After a minute or so of bench running I smelled hot motor. I'm pretty sure a prop the size of this one would cook it.
