want to replace my funjet motor that had an align 400 motor it it.

whats the hottest motor that i can put in it that will use 4s and 3s batts that I currently have (cause I dont want to buy more) that will give me max speeds?


I want to hit 100 mph min if possible

Depending on how much you want to spend, you could take a look at mega motors (pm moparmyway about what mega motor) or you could look at the arc 28/48/1.5 which is around 2700kv I believe. I had the 28/48/2 in my funjet an now it is going into my Stryker but it is only around 2100-2200kv and I am going to run it on 3s 4s and 5s to see how it works out but on a Stryker there is better air flow over the motor so is can run cooler at a higher amount of watts

Moparmyway would be the person to talk to he has posed strykeres past 170mph with a lot of modifications to the airframe. You can find him in the Stryker thread here and then lol at his blog also which is called speed my way I think...and he has a bunch of different motor setups and what they doplared at

You can do it with several motors:

ARC 28-37-2.5
Mega 16/15/3 or a 16/15/4
Mega 16/25/xx
ARC 28-47-1.5

Just depends how much you want to spend and how you want to do it.

Our 35 inch Prodigy hits 112mph, air speed , (How Fast meter) on 3 cells with the Mega 16-15-3. Solid motor, but on the expensive side.

had one gent offered me a eflight 2700kv 6 series...is that a good option? stated it can do over 100 on 4s and 90s on 3s...true?

Hmm...since it's gonna be one of your first rc platforms, you can get one of the cheaper motors as you'll probably crash a few times. Or if you're patient, you can find the mega 16/15/3 for $50-$60 in the power system for sale section.

Try a hobby king turnigy 2836 - 3700kv it will go over 100 mph all day and it only costs around $17.00

The E flite 6 series 2700kv is absolutely capable of over 100mph on 3 cell lipos. My son flies a modified Windrider mini Bee radared at 118mph on 2200 lipo 3s. I fly the same motor on 4s to 141mph on a 30in glassed wing. Great motors!

Yes, that Six Series will take a 3S or 4S. I personally like a 2200 3S on a Funjet with a 6x4 prop for a good mix of thrust (easy hand launches) and light wing loading type flight. 6-7 min flights. About 90-100mph. 4S is definitely over 100mph.

I had the six series 2700 while my arc was getting fixed (bent shaft after doing 80-100 straight into the ground with no elevator control) and i think that the arc will have more power with less strain on the motor. You could do the 48/2 from light flight rc and run up to a 7x5 on 3s and a 6x4 on 4s and it was only pulling around 45 amps full throttle. and they are around $65 here http://www.lightflightrc.com/
