This Aspire model, it seems was unobtainium, and I have been on the waiting list forever. Well, I finally got my hands on one and it was personally hand delivered today by no other than Larry Jolly .

I have not had time to do the detailed inspection but was able to quickly glance and weigh the components.

Fit and finish is excellent and lots of things are done for you. I will have time later tonight and will take pictures before the build.

This should be a fast build. I will try to get it done by Saturday night!

Ok, I got working on the fuse and wing tips this eve and this is what I got done. The build is pretty straight forward and many things are done for you.

Since the ail horn is factory epoxied in and not adjustable, I needed to use the innermost hole in the servo arms. Doing this presented some minor problems that need to be addressed. Pictures below will make it clear.

I will be using:
Airtronics 761 throughout.
A123 2300mAh battery
Futaba R608 2.4g Rx.

Weight of Left tip : 319g
Weight of Right tip: 318g
Weight of Fuse RTF w/ wing screws: 803g ( note, 123g nose weight neded)

Awesome Tuan. I am picking mine up tomorrow. I have had one, and flew it in the World Soaring Masters to 4th place. Just a fantastic glider. Does exactly what you want it to do, and it does it with ease.

Have fun. I am very happy to see that you are the proud owner of an Aspire. My quiver is just my High End and after tomorrow, it'll be High End and Aspire. I will be complete for the F3J and TD scene.

With Andreas Herrig airfoils, and Lubos Pazderka build quality....Very hard to beat this one.

My TD/J quiver has a common thread.....Andreas Herrig airfoils! With Dieter's design on the High End, and its speed range and handling, together with the Aspire handling and hang time, this is the one-two punch for J and TD.

I'm stoked.

Hi Jared, to be honest, I thought about RDS'ing the Aspire all last night. I would really like to do RDS but maybe on the next Aspire as I would like to get this one airborn ASAP.

I would estimate that there's only 3-4 hours of work and radio programming to get this airborne.

I am just contemplating which servos to use. Most likely a mixture of 2-3421 and 4-761 or all 6-761's.

That mason guy just retired and probably will not do any more brick work again. He got paid with a trip to the SWC!

Don't forget to buy an 'unobtanium' sticker.

Would be cool to see a video . Interesting choise to go bottom without paint and black wingtips .

Well then my friend, we could see her out on the upcoming Sunday then w/o RDS on this one.

OK Somebody stop me...

I got the Ele and Rud installed and was going to do the Ail but I keep wanting to do RDS on them.

I know, I know, why... when wires and plugs are already installed and the fairing for the horn is already there...

I just think that moving the ounce or so inboard yields a nimbler rolling plane... how much nimbler? I don't know...

Arhhhggg... Help.
