from about 15-20 feet . damage to nose is heavy and I most likly
just buy another fuse and splice the nose.

What a beautiful plane. Sorry for the crash. Did you have a build log?

Doesn't look too bad, should be easy to fix.

My A10 went in vertical at full power when the receiver locked out - totally destroyed the nose and broke off the wing and EDF nacelles. I just carved a new nose out of a block of EPS foam, glued back together with PVA, touch of paint and it's as good as new!

Well, third time is a charm. I think I've learned a lot from building the A-10 and now the other GWS models I've done.

This is the 3rd time I've rebuilt my GWS A-10 after crashes, but I think this is going to be the best shot yet.

I went a tad (read: wayyy) overboard reinforcing the wing and the body structure and added far too much weight. This quickly made me have to ditch the stock brushed motor setup (and yes, it was the EDF55 version) to go for a brushless setup. It's now powered by 2 brushless 4400kv 18A inrunners and a 3s, 2200 lipo pack. AUW is 35oz.

I've also redone the landing gear completely all custom, because I just can't seem to hand launch a EDF, so I wanted something more robust.

Anyways, here it is...

I don't see an E-Starter NPS EPO available on the CaliberHobby website.

Well..its been over 2 years since Ive posted in this GWS forum.
Had a GWS a-10 sitting in a box in the basement and finally decided to do something with it.

So.....power wise, Im using Kyosho 56mm edf fans with 4900kv kyosho BL motors on 4s lipo.
Using e-flite 60 amp pro esc's
I decided what the hell and fitted retracts to it also. They are the EPF DSR 30 size. The stock struts originally were significantly longer and had to cut them quite short.
There is a separate UBEC device that powers the DSR 30 gear.

As you can see in the pics, the large esc's are in the tail as well as an HS81 size servo for the elevator. As such for CG reason's, this plane will probably need two 1600mah size 4s packs up front. This will require some airframe mods like some carbon fiber strengtheners. Now...since the weight is going to be higher then most GWS A-10s, Ill probably put flaps on it too to help with landings.
Its definitely not going to be a short runway type plane for landings, however, the power/thrust those fans and motors put out on 4s is going to make this thing fly like a rocket.

There is more work to be done obviously....and a paint job.

ReMaidening My GWS A-10

well it winter and we keep getting one snow storm after another
but the lake is frozen solid and even thought it was windy
15-20 mph I decided to remaided my A-10 after a crash
that destryed the nose section - the crash may have be
a brown out of my 2.4 reciver buy she is repaired like
new and flew well - I had thought its was a little tail
heavy - but I think it was just the wind

GREAT PLANE nice to have it back
