Corona with HS-65 servos?

I want to get a T-Rex but dont know how to fly Heli's so I am thinking of doing what everyone recommends and getting a Corona for learning. Its easier to set up easier to hover, cheaper to fix... so I hear.

I don't want to have to buy everything twice, so motor, ESC, Gyro, Batteries, TX, RX should all be usable in both Trex and Corona.

Lots of people use HS-81 and 85 in corona, and HS-56 and 65's in the Trex. Is there a good servoe that could go in both? Can I use the 65's in the corona?

advice appreciated. Thanks

The Corona frame's servo cutouts are sized for micro servos. The TRex cutouts are sized for submicro servos. Simple answer is no.

But if you feel like jerry rigging something you should be able to mount HS65s into a Corona crutch and they'll probably have enough torque for the job.

All your points on the corona are correct.

My two cents is that the servos will pretty much be untrustworthy for use in a delicate 1000$ heli when you are done learning to fly. The hs85mg on cyclic is a good choice because you won't be replacing gear sets after every crash. I bought what was good for the corona and hang tomorrow. 85$ worth of servos and 30 hrs on the corona many crashes, no down time for servo repair. I'm happy with my choice.

Besides s3110s make a great submicro for the minis and are dirt cheap. I run them on my 2 x400s.

I agree with Steve on the mg part, for cyclic servos. Though I'm using hs81mg's not 85s. You can often find them even cheaper.

Besides who ever said that once you have a CP you'll be done with the corona? They are fun and relaxing. Some times you just want to chase butterflies.
