This morning and again now, my keyboard seems to have reconfigured itself. I rebooted and the problem disappeared but now, if I want to type any of the non-alphanumeric characters they are all over the place. the hyphen is =, the percent symbol is ), question mark is +, apostraphe is - etc.
Any explanations

Virus? I have seen at least one variety do this sort of thing.

Try a different keyboard too.

Maybe someone is pulling the caps off of your keys and mixing them up.

(Note: Try this sometime! It works especially well if you swap the "M" and the "N".)

Could it be some Spanish language settings? I have a laptop with a German keyboard but use a Danish OS and Danish language settings. Some of the non-alphanumerics are different and since I'm to lazy to lable my keys it sometimes takes a couple of tries before I get the right symbols.

Michael

PS: Z and Y are switched on a German keyboard compared to a Danish keyboard. This has led to some very "interesting" search results on Google when I was searching for information about the 4x4 I have - a Russian "Gaz 69"

At least I have , and to use

Seems that was just ham fisted (my son says so, so it must be) and I was pressing control and something instead of shift.
Not as bad as slipping in a "keybdv" in someone's dos pc autoxec.bat file

Scared the bejaysus out of them

The other curiosiy was rto get them to type 'make love'
The system responds : Don't know how to make 'love'
