Looks like a t-rex clone to me.

I bought my 450s from them for $209... if you did that, and added equivalent components as are in the heli you listed, you'd have nearly an identical bird, for around the same price. In other words, I'd just get a t-rex... at least you have the option then of installing better electronics.

If it is a trex clone, do I need to worry about parts They had a trex as well in the shop, I am going to compare the differences. I'm a newbie to helis, so feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

hurleybt,
I thought the trex450s was not metal like this one. Also I'll talk to the vendor about mixing and matching electronics, so quality of that is not a big concern for me.

Looks like nobody has really flown this thing...

Man do some of you look at things before you call it a clone????

Frame is 100% differant (looks like its g10 and rear mounted motor)... head has some odd changes like bg's and stuff... tail looks more like a dragonus tail with some rex parts on it....

The main thing is the drive unit(maybe a dragonus drive gear?)... MOST crashes will cause this to fail... So yes heli doesnt look to bad... but with no parts support your kinda SOL

And please noobs... just cause you see a heli that is rtf... please dont think ANY heli comes that way!!!

I think no company should sell a heli as an rtf.... its just not fair to noobs coming from other areas of r/c...

If youre not ready to build a heli then stop right there and save your cash! Another thing, there is no CHEAP way to get into to this hobby and have FUN. Do it the right way and buy the best elect's that you can get!!! If not you will be doing it after the first crash!

Please stay away from these cheap RTF's... Dont get me wrong if the airframe had parts support I wouldnt mind trying one... but all this crap they throw in with it should be in the trash or on a cheap foamie

Disclaimer
Also please when I use the word noob in this post... I am not talking down to ANYONE... We where all noobs at one point thats for sure

PS:

what the hell is this???

That is the skyway cable which holds the parts together after it explodes in mid air.

Straight from the manufacturer: "Can fly in skyway, backward, and 3D aerobatic"

"One-way bearing and landing system with flameout function" LOL

Seriously though, seems like a decent heli minus the servos, gyro and tx/rx. Which is the high dollar items, so basically you might as well build one of the well supported helis available instead and wind up in the same price range.
