If I were to make an ejumacated guess EJ, I would say around 85% of people fly thumbs as opposed to "pinching".

When i get round to picking up myself a heli, Just got a couple more things to sell off on ebay.
I'll be using mind control and letting the thumbs do all the work.

I learned to fly with thumbs I did try the pinch method but found it harder to do 3D so I switched back the thumbs. If you fly scale it might be better to use the pinch method.

I would say to try it both way and see what works best for you.

Being an RCer from back in the early 80's (cars & trucks back then) and only having stick radios, I have always been a thumber. I just got into helis (120 SR), I tried the pinch method and couldn't even keep the thing in the air, must be an acquired taste!

Pinch. I also shortened the sticks all the way down so i can control the heli while bracing my fingers against the controller.

My hands are thick and I don't have the room to pinch. If pinching feels good to you I would go that route.. If not there's the 85% of us you can join who are thumbin it..
