Is the Oculus using the same flying stab as the Marauder?

The oculus horz stab has a carbon fiber LE, TE and pivot tube. The marauder does not have them correct.

Yes and no! It is the same plan form with a thicker cord. I took the tail mod from the Marauder and changed the airfoil. This will be the new tail for the Marauder as well.

Just as an adjunct to that question - can you buy a flying stab for a Marauder separately - if you want to convert a kit with a standard stab? I know, wrong forum, wrong question....... :-)

Merrill/Clarence... I am getting ready to mount an adjustable tow hook. The plans measure out at 19 7/8", however the instructions mention 21 1/2". Which measurement would be the better to use?
Thanks
Rick

I would think that if you marked them both on the wing, it may become more obvious which is correct....
If I see Merril this week I will mention it to him.

Put the tow hook center at 4 3/4" from the LE of the wing cord.

Just a little note; I talked Merrill into letting me fly his Oculus at our local field. It went great! Besides all the nagging about me pulling it around all wildly (Merrills thumb and mine are calibrated way differently!), I found my groove, and had the Oculus specked out continuously, finding sink to get down, and then easily finding lift and working it to speck height. I got very comfortable very fast with the plane. Thanks to Merrill, and great job on the plane.
