Traxxas Spartan hits 50!!

Yep...........its true.

After several weeks of frustration with heat issues, endless time spent trying to make a 540XL push a 36" (ABS)boat to big speed, and only spending 200+ bucks on upgrades, this gent got to the advertised "out of the box" speed!!

I think the whole boat is a complete joke........... i built my Vader for the same $$ and its three times the boat the Spartan is.

Way to go Traxxas.......................heads are gonna roll in Plano before its all over...............

Modified Traxxas Spartan 55.4MPH GPS- (JPriami) (2 min 42 sec)

lol i think he has spent more than $200 on it.
i have to agree it the biggest piece of garbage to ever hit the market i should no i wasted my hard earned cash on one. already the ESC is already playing up on mine traxxas want me to send it back at my cost from Australia and back. well i managed to find one for sale cheaper. what a scam! i wish some one would sue the living out of traxxas for stating it would do 50mph make them take notice.

yer i know...hehehehe but seems many people have been ripped a new by purchasing this boat.

Imagine all those people who bought one could have bought a Vader. There would have been some busy waterways with black beasts tearing up the water ways.

Not defending traxxas, but if you add up everything that comes in the spartan box compared to your 35" DF build, it's still a good value for a RTR boat. Keep in mind it comes with the TX/RX, big waterproof servo, two 7s NiMH packs, etc. There has been quality issues, and speed discrepancies, but you simply cannot build a 50mph 6s boat that's as RTR as this is for the same cost (unless you're buying used parts).

If there wasn't overheating issues, and they hadn't claimed 50mph out of the box on lipos this thing would be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I would still like to see a GPS run of one on 6s with the packs all the way back, most people seem to be running them way too wet.

Sorry, I meant a bone stock one (other than cooling issues fixed) on 6s with the packs back. That one with the 4082 runs nice for sure, but I'd like to see if Traxxas has overly optimistic radar guns, or if it's how people are running them stock.

You guys are all wrong... the boat was probably developed and tested in either Europe or China: it's 50 KPH, not MPH!! and even that it's a bit optimistic...
