Elelctrifly Syncro EDF
Just saw Electrifly's new Syncro EDF at the LHS.
Has a fan mounted as a pusher on top of a 55 inch wing with ailerons(in Glider mode). Also comes with a short wing for "sport" flying (it eats two more aileron servos)
It costs $99.95 in "kit form" (no motor, ESC or Servos).
Recommended motor is a 24 mm in runner with Kv=4040. Talk about scream on 3S!

I just finished my Syncro and test flew it this past week. Went together easily. So far, I have not tried it with the smaller aerobatic wing but will soon.
This is my first EDF and am quite pleased with the performance. The recommended setup is plenty powerful.
A youtube video below. I took the video with a FlyCamHD attached to my cap visor. Came out a bit darker than I wanted but not too bad.

Great Syncro flight
That flight with Syncro looked great, especially the touch-n-go's.
How slow can it go? Have you figured out stall behavior yet? Where is CG?
Any details on set up? Have you made a ground run up with a watt meter yet?
Nice Hat cam video
Enjoy lots more flights

I used the motor recommended by GP, an Ammo 24-33-4040, a Castle Creations Phoenix 25, and several different batteries, Blue Lipo 20 & 25C and Amped Up 20C. Used HS-65HB for tail group, HS-56HB for ailerons in the glider wing, HS-55 for ailerons in the aerobatic wing. (I had all these on hand)
It can slow down quite well! Just drops the nose on a stall with either wing! CG is per specs at at 2.25 to 2.75 on the glider wing and 2.75 to 4.0 on the aerobatic wing. Both set at 4" out from center line.
Using relatively new 3S1p 2200 20C battery, pulls 21.4 amps and 245 watts static per my eLogger.
Hand launching without wheels is easy and it lands very well on grass. Landing on grass with wheels slows it down really fast and really won't take off on grass.
It runs out of steam quite fast on a vertical climb but more than adequate for nice aerobatics like loops, rolls, cuban 8s, snaps. I have been flying it with the aerobatic wing and it is a very nice aerobatic plane! Very pleased with it.
A youtube video with aerobatic wing is below. I did a poor job on this one. Hat was crooked and camera looking too low but some of it came out. Took another video today and may get that up later.

I just got my Great Planes Syncro today. Very nice. It was nicely packaged and fit and finish seems as good as any Multiplex aircraft I have built. The magnetic engine pod and magnetic canopy are very robust. It seems to be nicely engineered.

Yeah, I was looking at just ordering all the replacements parts less the motor and propeller/spinner, it comes out around $65 before shipping.
