As well as the mess and extra gear you obviously have to buy the nitro so there is extra cost, plus if (like me) you fly in public places you are more likely to get complaints with nitro as the make a horrible (IMHO) droning noise.

I've seen numerous discussions around people wanting longer flights trying lower headspeeds, bigger batteries, etc. etc. and the concensus is always to just buy more batteries as they really fon't fly well with oversize batteries or low HS

Nice bird. I raced r/c nitro cars on and off road for many year and would love to have a nitro heli, but that 600 is huge compared to your 450s and the 450s I have . I wonder if there's something less intimidating to fly in a public setting, like a 500 size nitro?

I reckon you should drop a couple of Monkeys on one of these:
Bobby Watts GAUI NX7 Testing 9-10-2014 (5 min 26 sec)

Although the NX4 does seem pretty cool also:
Gaui NX4 - Alvin Chai Extreme Nitro 3D Heli (8 min 18 sec)

There are 30 size nitros that are about the size of a "true" 500, i.e using blades of about 500 mm, but even those need to be flown further away from the general public than we can do with electric. Thing is, the 50 size is not much more expensive, if you have access to a suitable flying site, and rather than looking at it as more intimidating, you can see it as "slower physics" and greater stability. I fly 450 electrics generally, but still have a 600N in the UK, and it is a bit of a shock to my system when I fly it!
