what it looks like is if you are a wimp like me,
dis connect a red wire .
If you are not a wimp, just plug it in and look for smoke.

This topic has been brought up from time to time, and I like the idea of using a short extension, and removing red wire from that, instead of the ESC itself..

Walt,
I have usually worked to get the red wire, with the lead attached, pulled out of the plug and then I fold it over and tape it (lead and all) to the wires. This way if I want to use it in something else with a single motor, I can re-insert it lead and all into the plug. I was never a fan of that but hadn't consider there was an easier way.

It seems so simple to do it with the extension. Wish I would have thought of that or run across it sooner. That's why we post here.

BTW, you doing a twin version of this Walt? The Skunkworks in Floraida have been quite of late. When are we going to dothat paralellel build?

I just received an E mail from HK .
They said you should disconnect a red wire when connecting two
Red Brick 20 amp ESCs to a receiver
Otherwise the receiver will receive to much current.
They have an extension with no red wire ,Cost is under a dollar

Rule of thumb

A Linear bec esc you leave both reds connected
A Sbec esc you disconnect one
