then....check all your solder joints. between the motor and ESC. And...what motor is it? Maybe it just isn't up to the task???

I can pretty much guarantee that it's the Gecko. I was having the same issues with my EF Torque 4016. The firmware update from Altitude Hobbies fixed the issue and now it works absolutely flawlessly.

Nice job! What is your RTF weight?

Not sure... I will put it on the old fish scale tonight. It feels floaty in the air!

Update:

5 lbs 4 oz with 4s 4000mAh battery ready to fly.
5 lbs 2 oz with 4s 3300mAh battery ready to fly.

I still haven't heard back from Altitude Hobbies yet. I guess I'll have to call them tomorrow.

Does anyone have the file they can email?

BTW. I weighed mine and it's 5lbs 6oz with a 6S 3000 mah battery.

You were correct. After flashing the firmware file, and reducing the start up current value, I reinstalled the ESC and no more knocking at quick acceleration.

Thanks everyone for the help, especially 6L6Amp for providing the file and instructions.

I'm very happy to hear that the info 6L6Amp gave you fixed your problem. And now I know what to tell people with this problem, so I learned something also...

Absolutely loving the 58" Edge! Got 4 flights on it today in low wind conditions. It is so stable that it makes you comfortable doing stupid stuff really low! Not even the slightest hint of wing rock in either upright or inverted harriers!

42X50 what?? But, I sincerely doubt that it will balance with a battery that small...

I am running the Motrolfly 4315 which weighs 280 grams. It required that my 4s 4000 be pushed all the way to the firewall and an ounce of ballast up front to balance. Great power and floats great. A motor that is 65 grams lighter will need weight added to balance.
