It is a nice looking plane. Not quite a mid wing design though. But over time I am starting to lean more towards planes that make it easy to set them up for electric power. Thus it is easy to swap out the battery packs in them. Of course, in my opinion, it doesn't look like a Escapade, so I think they should have named it something else.

It looks like a big Escapade 61 with the wing raised, less chance of snagging one.

I think that they were trying more for a 3D aerobatic plane with it myself.

naaaaa, look at the ailerons. And here's the description :

Designed for 30-35 cc gasoline and electric power, the Escapade MX is a sport pilot’s dream come true. Not only does it handle low-speed maneuvers and high-speed aerobatics with equal authority, its low parts count and self-aligning tail surfaces help keep assembly time to a minimum. Compatible with 63-62-250kV brushless motors like the RimFire 1.60, the Escapade MX executes snap rolls, stall turns, inverted flight and every move in between. A high-visibility MonoKote trim scheme, painted fiberglass parts and prehinged control surfaces maximize convenience – while minimizing work!

I feel a lot more at ease with sport aerobatics. Too scared to risk the plane on 3D.

That why they invented the electric foamies. Very addictive on their own, with the bonus you can beat the tar out of them while learning 3D moves that will translate directly into your bigger planes (sport or 3D!)

Well they are saying it can handle low speed maneuvers. So it may have enough control surface area to do some stuff with. Granted you probably don't want to try it down low until you figure out what it can do and can't do though.

Yes that is a nice big one for sure. I like the size too. I am sort of looking for something like a giant Kaos style of plane myself.

I definitely like this ARF thing. I didn't gain any style by doing a stick type scratch build. But I have a beater that costs as much as an ARF. I started whittling that thing out last May.
A good builder really can have that Escapade 61 in the air in a few hours, nothing to it. All major components that screw together. The 30cc Escapade MX will probably be the same.

I just ordered one from tower yesterday. $300 but coupon code took $30 off and also free shipping. I don't think I can go wrong for $270.

They just got Revolvers in also. I just started assembling my Escapade 61. So far, just a small problem with slop in the bolt-on tail and the motor mount that is for 1.20 engines max is not easily accepting the DLE 20 without some mount slot extending . On another plane I used the 1.20-1.80 mount and it was out of the package and motor bolted on.
The receiver battery is intended for under the cockpit, needing to remove the wing to change it. So I removed the pilot figure from duty and assigned a CDI + battery under the canopy now.
And I need to hinge the canopy instead of screwing it in.

Some minor details to work on ARF's but better than the May to December long way up with a total scratch build I finally have flying.

As a tower member I got 10.00 off and 45.00 off a 289 order for a total of 245.99

I don't think you can go wrong, unless it is a piece of crap, But GP is usually pretty good.
