I have V949 (the latest "V929" board the same) and with 120% ep I can avoid the autoflips with staying under D/R 84% rates for AIL/ELE...

I have D/R set to 86% and have never flipped my fpv v929 r1 or r2 (by mistake)

I'm using 85% without any problem, but I never tried 86%.

Mine at 84% for 120% EP...but I will test again tonite...

I just got a V929 which has a JR-WL-FD02R-1....REV 01.....2012/07/22 board. That is the one with 8 connectors, 4 for power and 4 for LEDs. I bound it to my 9X transmitter and like flying with it much better than the toy transmitter that it came with.

I have not yet had the time to experiment, and have been unable to find via a search here, to see if the LEDs can be actuated by a transmitter other than one from WLToys. Can it be done?

I have the option to buy from a local store a V929 version 1 for $50 OTD (I pulled off the canopy myself).
Worth getting?
I have flown the Syma X1 and consider it way to tame for my tastes. I have considered the getting the MQX since I have a DX6i. I also have a 6 channel flysky CT6B http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-ct6b-r6b-radiosystem.html that I would have to program with my computer ( I have done this before)
How much tamer is the V929 compared to the MQX?

They fly quite differently. MQX is real rate control (stick controls rate of rotation ... return to zero ... keeps at the same attitude). V929 has some "self level" (but doesn't have accelerometers so isn't doing "real" SL) ... you have to keep holding forward stick (say) to keep going forward.

I found the "auto-flip" at full throw on my 929 a royal PITA. Meant I couldn't use 100% throw on the stock TX. Don't have 9x so can't comment on how good you can get it there.

MQX is more of a challenge to fly (at first), but more fun after you get some experience. 929 is still good to fly too, just frustrating that you can't get it to be all it should/could be.

From reading here it sounds like the X1 is a lot tamer still.

I added a light from my v959 to my v929 homemade drink cup canopy.

It plugs into my 929 (8 plug) board and switches on/off with my 959Tx.

I like it and will order more lights.

I like that... reminds me of this lil' guy...



I use cut-down Slushie lids myself; cuts canopy weight to like 1 1/2 grams.

I'm waiting for a prop gear to arrive to try the GWS props.

My V202 arrived with 1 motor that would not lift off the deck. Not much sense in disputing value with the seller.
So it's just another of my projects...

I am wondering if it would fly as a tri-copter???

but I suspect that's all in the programming.
