How to make a mold from an exsisting canopy
Hey guys, What I have is a circus Hobbies Reed Falcon Canopy (clear) but it is cracked. You can not go out and buy one so what I need to do is to make a mold of the original clear canopy so I can vac-u-form a new canopy.
I can glue the old canopy together if this helps ?

Plaster of paris also works well. My buddy uses that to make copies of canopies etc.

Hydrocal casting gypsum is the hardest curing gypsum available. It can be purchased in 1/2 gal amounts at hobby shops that cater to model railroading. About 8 bux, last time I bought it. There are two types, casting and laminating. The casting is strongest. A 1/2" layer over metal screen, in scenery, will support a 150# man!
When I make my canopy molds, this is what I use and send to Sparky at Park flyer plastics, for pulling.
