Go on live chat with them and see what they say, I doubt they would want it shipping back anyway, more likely they will partially refund or send a new rx.
They might want a video of it not working though.

There's a Brushless parts list on page 10, post # 144.

I plan on going Brushless soon as I now plan on keeping the boat; If I wasn't planning on keeping it I would just stick to the brushed motor.

tight fit

It's possible to fit a 1500 nah 3cell with a little plastic removal . I'm planning on use my ft009 to catch some blue gills come spring time . I hope it has enough thrust to pull it in . What do you guys think ?

I guess under the red tape, there are 2 diodes in serie on + pole ?
Which model did you used ?

Yes the diodes are in series on the + pole under the red tape . I went to my local radio shack and bought 3 diodes .I can't remember the specs on them but I did a voltage check and they only dropped battery voltage by 1.2 volts . So on a fully charged 3s, I would initially be at 11.4 to be on the safe side . I have read here that people have been doing well running 3s without the diode but I like to play it safe . It's the ft009.

Is it definitely the motor that's shot and not the Diodes?

I got good life out of my motor using Diode dropping.

Those Diodes have to pass a good amount of current so should be adequately rated.

Having purchased from TMart before, this came to me in an e-mail ad. My wife and I live on a lake and have four grandkids that visit often. So I had to order a green and orange boat to start out my RC Hobby at 56 years old.

In addition to ordering the two FT009's, I read this entire thread and ordered four Turnigy nano-tech 2200mah 2S 40~80C Lipo Packs, a ten pair pack of Nylon T-Connectors and a HobbyKing Quattro 4x6S Lithium Polymer Multi Charger.

I hope that is all I need to get started. All of you that have posted in this thread have been a huge help. The only thing I am not 100% sure about is the charger, so I have my fingers crossed. I can't wait to get everything and take the boats out for their maiden voyage. I might even let the grandkids try one.

Thanks again,

-Jeff, Brand New to the RC Hobby

To be honesty I don't know what happen , I'm assuming it's was the motor . I sadly lost my boat down stream due to a lack of a recovery boat . Now that I think of it , you may be right . On the bright side I just got a new ft009 yesturday. Can you tell me where you bought your diodes from .

well got my 1500 3s batteries in. they fit. hooked everything up to go run. Well somehow the esc that feeds signal to motor quit. the server portion still works and I connected motor directly and it still works. dunno. the solder does look crappyn the circuit board. At this point I am thinking of going brushless on the ft009.
