GP Ryan kit BL Lipo Vid
Here are some pics and a vid of my Ryan with a Mega 22/20/2 and a 5.2Ah chunk of lithium. I'm not sure what the AUW is but it's got 500W in & 400W out. I think this plane would fit in ok at the gas field; motocalc predicts ~80mph level and in the video I rarely use WOT. This was my third flight with this bird so I'm still getting a feel for it.
P.S. Turn up the volume...

It's got a MEC Super Box 3:1 and 11x10,(50A static) 3S2P Irate 2600, CC60, Electron6 and HS-81s, MG on the rudder. I took these guts from my Freedom 3D after a little mishap. Slowstick wing took off rudder, elevator got stuck on dangling rudder... All it did was break off the landing gear and strip a couple servos but I had too many 3D planes. Anyways, I'm fairly impressed by this Ryan. It outperforms my Kwikfly with a Enya 50(glow) but thats a much bigger plane. I've been tempted to try to shoehorn that 50 into the Ryan but I don't know if the airframe could handle it, plus I hate the mess.
The flight on the vid was 7 minutes and I was surprised that the mega came down cool. The lipos were warm but not hot. My two previous flights were at 4:1(30A static) and could easily be run wide open for the whole flight.
When I get a chance and a steady camera operator/better light I'll post another video.

Congrats on your successful Ryan! How did you manage to squeeze a 6-cell stack of 2600mA-h Li-poly into that tight forward compartment? I couldn't get a similar stack of TP2000 cells to fit, so ended up going with a 4S2P 4000mA-h pack (2 stacks of 4 cells). I flew my Ryan on an endo at 3.75:1, 2S4P 7600mA-h with 12X10 APC-e for almost a year. I would describe the performance as "scale-like", with decent speed and modest power. Decided to see how it would perform with "non-scale-like" power, so installed an Aveox 27/26/1.5, 5.0:1 superbox, the 4S2P 4000 battery, and 12X8 prop. Not as much power as yours, but plenty to keep up with nearly everything at the flying field. The Ryan does have a pretty clean airframe, so it moves right along with sufficient power. Does yours track straight on vertical lines? I think mine needs some adjustments in this area.

I had to trim about 1/8" from the top and sides of the 2 nose bulkheads. It's a good fit now, but to remove the battery I have to slip a half of a gws prop under it to separate the velcro.(while the plane is upside down)
Since it's my only pack for this plane I almost never remove it.
I'm not sure about the uplines; I've ony done a rough job of trimming it. It gets some amazing altitude before it loses steam though.
