Help me choose a radio system for all my planes

Can I get suggestions on a new radio to be used to fly 2 powered planes (4 channel), RE sailplane and a sailplane with rudder, elevator, ailerons and flaps? I would like the radio to have a pretty easy user-interface and straight forward to program. What radio would fit this?

Rio,

Stand by for many, many recommendations since we all have our favorites.

One thing that would be helpful is to give your fellow RCers an idea about your budget so they can make some meaningful recommendations.

I'll get out of the way now, but will leave you some very general advice. The radio and associated equipment is key to you flying safely and enjoying this hobby so buy as much capability as you can reasonably afford. Keep in mind that you will probably expand your interests and may need additional channels.

Good luck,

Dave

Seems you are asking for a simple 6ch system almost ever brand has something that would fit. The Hitec A9 would be good and should be easy to use with it's touch screen and the easy to use basic set up menu.

My current Hitec Flash 5 72 mhz system is not easy to program or navigate and the user interface is ancient so I'd like some recommendations on currently available radios that people either really like or really dislike.

I had one too and couldn't figure it out either. I use an airtronics SD-10G now. very easy to program. Amazing capability and not really that much $$. I like all the tune-ability even for simple 2 channel electric gliders but I also fly 6 channel gliders so it's perfect.

Don't opt for simplicity. Go for signal integrity. All that programming flair wont matter much if your plane isn't hearing your transmitter.
The Futaba 8CG is my suggestion.
