Looking to maiden the Radjet this weekend, Would have done it Saturday but the black wire on my XT60 to EC3 adaptor came apart. Impressed on the quality you get for ~USD $35.00. Have the stock version. Anything I need to know ? Will start with a 3 cell 1300mah. More concerned about stability than speed at this point.

just remember to get the battery far enough in front. i used 1300 3s on stock, and i had the battery just peeking out into the cockpit. a little front heavy rather than opposite. deathspins are suppose to be a hassle. though it glides very well, and i think its capable of a nice big engine to power it

Remember to set the CG at least 15mm rearward of the stock location. Do this and it will fly very good. Others have gone as far as 20mm. Ill be doing that too on my next flight.

RadJet power upgrade and other mods

HobbyKing RadJet Peformance Mods and test flight (10 min 59 sec)

This is a video of my HobbyKing RadJet 800 with a performance power system upgrade and some other mods done to make servicing the plane easier. The power system and mods are all covered at the end of the video.

2826-6 2200kv brushless outrunner

H-King 50A brushless esc

Rhino 1350mAh 30c 3s1p liPo

APC 6x4 sport prop

E-Flite removable stick mount / motor mount

With this setup the plane weighs in at about 16.4oz and is about 15-20mph faster than stock 3s setup. This is for those looking for good all around flight performance fast and slow.

Good to see this plane (and thread) is getting some more followers.

For those flying this for the first time, make sure you have dialled back your rates and or are set up for minimal throws, this thing is crazy twitchy at full rates / throws. Dont ask me how i know.

on the crazier side anyone got near 300k/hr out of these? Any suggestions to get one there?

thanks guys
300kph??? WOW, you really are trying to live up to your name

I've heard of over 200kph with the 2836 but nothing like 300. Good luck, hope you've got good eye sight.

The 1300 wont require alot of foam removal. In any case you can counter balance on the rear end if you want to just mount it in the cockpit. I also believe a 1000 3S will balance OK without removing any foam.

That was a great video Frank! Though at the 2;05 mark..You said you scooted the CG forward a bit, when I think you meant to say..you moved it Rearward. We've found that 15-20mm rearward of the stock location is best.

Thanks for doing such a great review.
