First order of business is to inventory everything to make sure the kit is complete.... no reason to suspect otherwise though.

Are you going to use the flap build like that linked on the RCSCALEBUILDERS thread?

I am particularly interested in the flap modification.

Yes. I will defintelly use the Paul Burke flaps on this kit. I will get the robart struts as well and i'm still debating the cowl.

There will be a few challenges but I've been researching and I think I can manage. There will be some mods for "scale sake" and to allow the electric power drive.

One area of concern is the power drive.
This kit was intended to be used with a gas or glow engine.
It is my intention to make this an electric powered bird.
The actual motor/esc/battery is not a concern to me right now.
What is a concern is how i'm going to facilitate access to the battery so that I don't have to take of the wings after every flight.

I top off my LiPo between flights "in the plane" w/o worry -- generally don't use more then 50%. With A123s no worry at all - my H9 1/4 J-3 ( http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=752795 & http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=728852 ).

I see that the plans do not have a hint on how to add flaps. I will have to think about that carefully. Maybe extend the spar where the alerons are attached all the way to the root. Maybe even change the material of it. Then Implement the scale flap mod discussed previously:

On the site that had that flap detail, http://www.angelfire.com/indie/aerostuff/pt19.htm Paul has a link for the flaps but it no longer works.

I e-mailed Paul requesting information on the removable empenage, flaps & 3 piece wing.

His e-mail addy is on the page & seems to work although I have not gotten a reply yet..

I tried that page myself ... I didn't think of emailing Paul. That would certainly help a lot. I appreciate.

One of the guys at the field told me his set up on his Dynaflite PT-19, so i'll pass it along. He was running an E-Flite 160 motor & 10s 500 lipo battery. His prop was a 20-8. I'm dont fly electric planes so i have no idea what any of this is, but saw that you were asking about a power system for yours, so i asked when i saw him and am passing it along.....Gene
