A bit more information would be very useful if you want to get any meaningful answers.
What are the dimensions of your 1:8 boat, length, width, weight?
What kind of speed are you looking to get from it? What hull type is it?

back2 earth,
If it is a 1/8th scale hydro plane I would think its somewhere between 40 and 50 inches 10 - 20 pounds loaded. If you are going to run it In IMPBA scale events the motor choices are scorpion 4035 or NUE 1527 Kvs ranging from around 800 for 10s to 1250 8s. You will need a quality esc capable of 200 amperes continuous as a minimum. The bigger the better. Advice will only get you so far. Once you have all the basic components you must get out and test the boat making adjustments until she runs as you wish. With these setups your prop ranges will likely fall between 46-55 mm.

Happy Boating

I'm not really familiar with the mini eco boats. I was thinking by 1:8 you were referring to a large hull. There is a fairly active thread on the mini eco here on RC Groups though. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1865236

What boat I use?

LOL did someone tell you I didnt have one? wouldnt surprise me.... someoenes always talking about what they think they know.........

I run an 1/8th scale'90 circus circus "pink lady" Its 43 inches and 14 pounds loaded . Im currently fitting it with an autonomous canard system........

I as the other poster thought you were speaking of an 1/8th scale unlimited hydroplane......

I dont run any of that submerged stuff not enough excitement there for me without a rooster tail.....

Happy boating

Hugh
