Question
Looking for some decent wing servo reccomendations

When they were on sale I purchased four Spektrum A7010 wing servos for a project that I am working on.

What is the general opinion of these servos? Are they something that I'm going to regret putting in my wings?

I'm basically a club flyer that will compete in a few contests, so I don't feel the need for the most expensive servos, but then I don't want to use the most unreliable ones either.

What would you use in my situation?

As always,
Thanks in advance!

They still are, on Amazon, for $19.
This price volatility, from $40 when not discontinued, to $7 the dealers price, and $12 how I bought them myself, make me think once again to the relativity of "you get what you pay" and "cheap chinese stuff"

I like these, use them for flaps and ailerons on my f5J planes and on the spoilers on my RES Mystique. The torque isn't as great as a Futaba 3114 or Dymond D47, but the metal gears are more robust and the price is right, about $7 from HK, if I remember...

Thanks for the recommendations so far,
I'm looking for something that is good for a 3-4 meter span that won't break the bank!

And what are the opinions of the A7010 Spektrums?

I've been using some of the 115 and 135 KST servos. They seem quite good: fast, good centring and holding power. Servormances' testing shows not quite as good performance as KSTs, but for $24 they seem very good. The 135s are a bit smaller and lighter, but Servormances recommends using the 125s if you have space:

KST also has an 8mm thick 12g servo that HyperFlight is carrying.

Servormances hasn't tested any Spektrum servos, and my only experience with the brand was some little digitals that were truly awful.

I do not recommend the Spektrum 7010 servos! I've had three of them fail so far. The electronics is the problem. The 7020 is no better.

If you want a good thin wing servo try these. They work well.

If you are on a tight budget, these will work but aren't as good at the Turnigy.

I own and fly both of these servos and they work well. Good luck!

From HK, the Blue Bird/BMS servos are my favorite, at decent price for a quality exceeding Hitec in many cases.
Replaced a HS 80 in a very demanding place, tricopter yaw servo, where two units broken one after the other in less than one month, with a BMS 380 that still work today.
Since then half of my servos in various 2m+ gliders are BMS.
Found about them reading a Trappy quote about the 380Max MG, as better than anything has Hitec in this class.
