spinner on pusher props?

Hi.. i have been aaking uncle google do we need a spinner"nose cone" on a pusher prop.
Cant find any info.

does anybody knows if a spinner"nose cone" makes a difference on a pusher prop setup.

I agree that you don't need one but I'm not convinced that it makes "no difference."

Every full scale pusher in the world seems to use them.

Personally, I think they look cool, possibly help a little with aerodynamics...and in some rare cases, it might help when trying to balance a plane with a bigger than normal battery up in the nose.

I wonder if as an aerodynamic effect on the flow of air created by the prop.. like a more linear flow behind the plane

The problem with a pusher spinner is really its shape.
A leading edge can be a fairly bluff rounded shape without incurring a significant drag penalty, however a trailing edge has to have a long shallow taper to be aerodynamically efficient.
The question really is whether a pusher spinner makes a significant difference rather than it has no effect.

Have a look at images of a civil Cessna Skymaster. Its rear spinner is quite long and pointed (In fact they use the same at the front as well) but compare it shape to say a Spitfire or Mustang spinner which although much faster plane has a more rounded profile.
