Nice job guys! I love having my mqx for the indoors and local park flying. Been modding mine since the day I got it. Now this is how is sits...
Custom Canopy w tape to help orientation Extended thruster booms GWS props en route to me too Shaved off battery cage and make a Velcro set up. One for just carrying a bigger battery (1s 3.7v 600), and one to carry both battery and 808 camera with foam insulation for vibration canceling Love seeing new creations! Keep em coming! |

I have noticed less prop wash from extended thruster booms also. and ive noticed with my round tight to frame style canopy, it also reduces the prop wash dramatically. i can drop from 150 ft to a hover 1ft off the deck a LOT easier...almost no prop wash or violent sway. I also glued the main gears to rotor shaft so if I meet something in the air (bird,tree,pole..lol), I don't come down and loose a gear. It has worked sooo many times so far!

Made a new canopy! Looks almost like the first but bigger cause I can't see the damn thing at 150+ ft! Lol also put mesh on the top to colorectal board from leaves and such as I like to "buzz" everything I see, and added a window in the back to see the blue light(looks awesome at night. Still looking for an LED kit using the existing battery. Using disc golf beacon lights velcro on each arm...not $ efficient...$18 a set.

Broke my motor power wires (cheap pieces of sh!) so I broke out the solder gun and bang! Using RJ45 (cat5) twisted pair and some heat shrink. I think it looks better with the wires showing rather than through the boom. Added a led too straight to the board just for the heck of it. Got it from a brookstone (broom it up after)piece my son trashed.Tell me what you think.

I'm running my nav lights inside a clear body, moving them around in there with scotch tape until I settle on where I want them permanently for the best night orientation, then I'll move them to the airframe like you did. That will let me swap out bodies and not worry about wires.
Mine run on the main battery, and I see no extra drain there. Here's where I got them: SF Design Solutions: "Taking the ultra-micro to the dark side" www.sf-design-solutions.com |

Took my new props out for a spin in 15+mph winds and they work damn well! Just needed a good balancing(a lot actually) and now wow! Fast throttle!
Also, I put stock booms back on for weight w the magnet wire again. Just did the GWS blades...what a difference! Now if only banggood would not F up their orders!! I bought 4 sets (not pairs, sets of 4) and they sent me 1 complete set and the rest are all CCW! Emailed them today and awaiting response. Checked my order invoice too and I'm right...BAD Banggood!! |
