I also conceiled the ctl surfaces. Not going all out, I just don't like exposed clt parts unless it's the TA152.

I plan to get another kit and keeping it all stock, including the retracts and painting it after the holidays. Thats' the plan at least..

Thanks. I have one too many projects also. I'll start priming in the morning. The ailerons still need the rib stitching..when I find some.

TF FW 190 with Robart Retracts

Has anyone tried to shoe horn the electric tail wheel assembly into the Butcher Bird? I'm getting this as a project plane and the fellow who I am building it for says it's too tight a fit to install.

Even the mechanical tail wheel is tight.

The construction article in the latest Model Airplane News mentions the issues with the tight fit of the electric tail wheel retract. Apparently some structure has to be removed and the retract unit hammered into place!
