Pfalz D XII

hi to all

I present you my new kit
1 version with Polish cammuflage
second with German camuflage
I made SEVERAL picture speaks more than words

mounting fusselage:

I have cutt a small piece of epp in the front, in part after the "cooler"

to strengthen fusselage I glue the grid plate (glass ribbon) which can buy in DIY store (for reliecolle plasterboard)

I also strengthen the cover (next to the motor)

to paste coverage should put temporarily fill the gap of the horizontal stabilizer

I glue coverage with UHU Por

well can finish a crevasse with CA. I use etui for documents to push crrevasse , because the CA cannot glue with this

I shoot with the tweezers the temporary element and cut the crevasse for stabiliser

I cut a stabilizers (the hinges are already cut with CNC)

I renforce element with carbon:

in may finisser flat wings&stabilisers surfaces:

pour glue:
glue CA et spray-accélérateur
important: max 2-3 cm for one time!

I cut with knife remnants of glue

to be continued...

Marek

Some of these teshniques used for EPP construction are new to me. In particular the fuselage structure and "skinning". Also removal of material from the interior of the control surface perimeter, then gluing the remainng external material together to shape the edge. Quite clever in concept and skilfully executed.

I'm sure you get many requests to do this or that model, but I cannot resist making one, for the Bristol M1c, the Gina Lollabrigida of WWI planes. Perhaps lengthen the nose a bit, maybe lengthen the ailerons some.

Were kits to become available to be constructed as the Pfalz DXII, or as your PZL P11c, I would order two immediately.

Wow

You're blowing me away w/this thing. I have questions and comments.

1. Struts are made of CF strip?
2. Very clever means of attaching struts to wing. Pointed ends that just stab into the EPP, easy to make small adjustments to align wings.
3. Does the foam wing alignment template (stencil) come with the kit?
4. Using a paper template to locate the cabane struts then cutting the template free should be effective.
5. How in the heck did you paint the lozenge camouflage?
6. I very much like the idea of a tube through the fuselage to support the landing gear.

On to the Bristol.

1. Are we talking ESA specification?
2. I much prefer the P11c style 2-piece, hollow fuselage.
3. Seems as though the nose would need to be extended (15mm or so?)
4. Do you think the ailerons should be lengthened a bit?

This conversation can be continued by e-mail if you wish. I don't want to detract from your Pflaz build log with my pet project.

Hi Mazzepa1

ad1) Struts are made of CF strip (4x1mm)
ad3) stencil come with the kit
ad5) its my secret hehe - UV printer with flatbed

Bristol:
yes, similar to P11 with fuselage like "O" -look my last project: I 16 Rata
the nose would need to be extended (minimum 20-max 30mm)
the ailerons should be lengthened a bit

best regards
Marek

ad5) Ahh, printed directly on to the EPP, hence the need to remove material from the inside and fold over the external (printed) material. In order to extend the camouflage across the rounded edge. Excellent.

Bristol M1c - I looked over the Rata build log photos a few days ago, I think that method should work splendidly for the Bristol. Amazes me that you could develop and cut a kit so quickly. While I'm excited at the prospect of this endeavor, please don't rush. I will gladly wait for you to take the time necessary to do it up right.

If the cost per kit is close to that of the P11c, please provide quote for 2 kits shipped by post here, PM or e-mail as you prefer.
