Antenea Question

I just bought a Optic 6 that came with a HFD-08RD receiver. The range on this combo is a mile or better. Since I don't plan on flying my planes that far away from me, this is what I planned on doing. (this is my very 1st build, a TM 400).

(I do not want the ant to leave the fuse, and look ugly)....so I wanted to either glue a 14" straw into the fuse and lead the ant wire to the tail, (and coil the excess by the rx.....OR....just coil the entire ant wire along a 14" straw, and leave it in the fuse.

Considering that my plane will never be more than 100 yds away from me, will I have any reception troubles, or is it a non-issue?

Thanks
Jim

Wrap the antenea around the Straw but do not cross the wires. I have done this many times without problems.
