LAST CALL for voting in the Britkit Build Off Poll

Since the flow of voting seems to have trickled to a stop there seems no point in keeping the poll open until 21/01/13, so I propose to close this thread next Monday evening, 14/01/13. So anyone who still wants to vote has three days to do it! Then with that tidied up we can all get on with the Britplan Build Off:D

Here is the voting poll for the 24 completed entries in the 2012 Britkit Build Off. See below for photographs of each model, and click on the links to access the build threads.

I do this every time there's a contest vote to deal with. I look, admire, and make up my mind... then hesitate and look some more, admire some more, then STILL can't pull the trigger! This one is the worst yet. There are just too many really nice models to make just one choice.

I NEED A DRINK!!

I give all the builders a round of applause for a well done job. The models are nicely built and presented. It’s really a hard choice to pick one over the other. Congratulations to all you builders for a very fine effort, you are all winners.

How about we all vote for our own models, then there's a 24 way tie! (oh, that won't work for people with more than one entry. Only one vote each.) Disregard this post, it was a dumb idea anyway! Gary

Voting isn't limited to participants Gary, so no, it wouldn't work. I did consider allowing multiple choice voting, and if there had been a way to limit it to, say, 3 votes per person, might have gone with that, but as far as I could see allowing multiple choice meant that you could vote for everyone, which rather defeated the object!

Anyway, it's just a bit of fun, like the man said, we all won by acquiring a nice model or models at the end of the build off and having the enjoyment of building them.

Very, very tough decision friends.

Torn between so many lovely planes, I changed my mind about 2 dozen times, reviewed the build logs etc etc.

Loads of fun and I now have a great little plane that I maybe would have never built, so once again I want to say, well done George, for all your efforts.

Happy New Year all!

Haven't voted yet -- some beautiful models there, and it is like the old "comparing apples with oranges" in many respects, because of the wide range of model types in this amazing collection. But I will "sleep on it," and hopefully be able to "pull the trigger!"

Voting seems to have ground to a halt at 29 - looks like I should have selected an earlier closing date, but I can't alter it now, so I will give it to next Monday (14th) and then assume everyone interested has voted and close the thread at that point. So, if you haven't made your mind up yet - you've got 7 days procrastination time left!

Hi George
Maybe the problem is that the general RC Groups member thinks voting is only for build-off participants?
Anyway it's a very close finish for a wide variety of models, satisfying conclusion regardless.

I would say that the success of this build off should not be measured by the number of votes cast, but rather by the number of models to vote on....!

I did post alerts on this forum and also the Balsa Builders and Free-Flight ones which specifically said that everyone was welcome to vote, not just participants - but maybe people don't read posts if they are not directly concerned.

I agree that the measure of success was the fact that 24 models of very widely varying types were completed; I know I am very happy with the ones I built, and am sure that applies to everyone else too. It's all about having fun!

Anyway, it looks as if we may be going to get a finite result now as Warren's masterpiece has sneaked into the lead - maybe size does matter after all

It's good to see that we are a like minded bunch....many of the lovely models that I was torn between on the vote are all at, or near the tops of the pop voting.
