John, I am certain if you contact E-flite, they will send you a couple of replacements for a few bucks. As tiny as those things are, it happens. You are not an idiot. You're probably like me...big huge paws.

The set screw is most likely 3mm metric but you can re-tap the mount to accept a 4-40 set screw available at the Home Depot.

Looks good.
I am actually going to do my own build thread on a separate thread than this one. I won't be starting for another few weeks yet on mine. I'm still working on another project.

Just a note. I have yet to make one of my planes as light as Pat's. I always miss the mark, but I still try. You have to keep in mind that Pat has built thousands of planes and has designed hundreds. So he has a real wealth of experience.

Pat,
What prop are you using on the Park 180?

Just ordered the kit and graphics. Radio items I don't have are ordered tomorrow.

By the way, I checked the wing loading and you were pessimistic. At 3.3 oz I got a WL of 3.8 oz/sq.ft., not 4.2

I have 2 of the original catapult launch w/ metal centers.
And another history item: my father worked in a hobby shop with Bob Smurthwaite, who developed this design. That was in the 1940's.

Scott, I was talking with Pat over the weekend. I think he told me he used a 7x3 prop. I'm pretty sure that's what he said. He also said that motor was ALMOST too powerful for this plane.

Sounds almost like it might be 3D capable with the Park 180.

Thanks.
I got onto eCalc and, using the info given by Pat, calculated that the Park 180 would put out about 20w with a 6x3 slow fly prop (max prop size on 2S recommended by E-Flite). I tried a 7x3 in the calculation, but got a warning that it pulled too much current for the motor.
At 20w, and a flying weight of 3.3 oz, the power loading is 97 watts per pound, which is pretty spritely. That would make a lot of 10 second climbs with glides, or flying around your head at low throttle for a loooong time.

My graphics will be sent tomorrow. The kit will be longer; waiting for another shipment of parts, so I think this is popular.
